He was born on January 13, 1942 in New Orleans, Louisiana and was the oldest of five sons.
He is preceded in death by his parents, W.I. Taylor, Sr. and Gertie Marie Rodriguez Taylor and one brother, James Jack Taylor.
David was a 1960 graduate of Lumberton High School. He attended the University of Mississippi ('Ole Miss) and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in accounting. He was a veteran of the Mississippi Army National Guard with six year of service. He began his career at the Redstone Arsenal and retired as a procurement manager at Robbins Air Force Base in Warner Robbins, Georgia. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was an active member of Little Black Creek Baptist Church.
Family members include his loving wife of 16 years, Elizabeth Cameron Taylor; two sons, David Joseph (Rochelle) Taylor, Jr. of Tyler, TX, Jeffrey Alan (Alischia) of Marietta, TX; two step daughters, Rhonda (David) Lewis of Lumberton, MS, Mary (Andy) Stellman of Carriere, MS; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Little Black Creek Baptist Church (1276 Little Black Creek Road, Lumberton, MS, 39455) on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 pm until services, Saturday at the church.
