Yolanda Bautista Valdez

Mass of the Christian Burial for Yolanda Valdez, 71, of Diboll, will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Diboll with Father Ariel Cortes, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with the family receiving friends and loved ones from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Valdez was born February 11, 1943 in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in a Houston hospital.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and her birds. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Mrs. Valdez was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Juan Valdez of Diboll; son, Juan Daniel Valdez, Sr. and wife Gloria of Diboll, his children Juan Daniel Jr., Eric and Julian; daughter, Fidela Valdez of Diboll, her children Jasmine Macias and husband Fidel, Jose Alberto Vasquez and wife Ivonne; and Jesus Adrian Vasquez; and Fidela’s grandchildren, Elyssa Carolina Vasquez, Nayelie, Briana, Johanna and Fidel Antonio Macias, and Thalia Vasquez; her mother, Leonor Bautista; and her 11 brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by her father, Pedro Bautista.

Pallbearers will be Juan D. Valdez Sr., Juan D. Valdez Jr., Jose Alberto Vasquez, Jesus Adrian Vasquez, Fidel Macias and Juan Carlos Vasquez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Valdez, Julian Valdez, and Fidel Antonio Macias.
