Funeral services for James “Buddy” Lout, 95, of Lufkin will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Cross Timbers Cowboy Church with Rev. Ford Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at West Cemetery.
Mr. James Buren Lout “Buddy” born on May 30, 1928 and passed on July 16, 2023 at the wonderful age of 95.
Mr. Lout joined his parents, Martin Van Buren (Bonner) Lout and Minnie Olivia Felder Lout, sisters, Mildred Lout Roark and spouse, Rudolph Roark, Mary Kate Lout West and spouse, Rayford West, Gene Lout Comer and spouse, Curtis Comer, also Mrs. Marie Lazarine Lout, first wife, in Heaven with his Savior Jesus Christ.
Mr. Lout will lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley Jean Lout of 26 years; step-children, Joe Nelson, Roy Nelson, Sherry Nelson, Robert McNiel Jr., and Jimmy Capps; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; nieces, Kathy West Wilton and spouse, Bill Wilton, and Sharon West Smith and spouse, Travis Smith.
Mr. Lout had a love for horses, horseback riding, his cat, Sissy Bo, shinning anything he got his hands on. He enjoyed playing the guitar, whistling his favorite songs, and being outdoors. Most of all he loved Jesus.
Mr. Lout worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for several years before moving onto Temple Inland, where he retired after 25 years.
Mr. Lout was born and raised in Alto, Texas, and moved to Lufkin in 1969 where he lived until his final day here with us when he entered into the gates of Heaven.
Pallbearers will be Roy Nelson, Joe Nelson, Oscar Villanueva, Timothy Anderson, Bruce Oliver, and Hal Hunt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Skylar Lynch and Jerry Cabello.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation, 2102 S John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Cross Timbers Cowboy Church.
