Eileen Loomis Rhodes

Services for Eileen Rhodes, 71, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ford Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Fielder Memorial Cemetery. A reception will follow the service at Little Flock Baptist Church, 2769 FM 1475, Lufkin, TX.

Eileen was born January 2, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland and passed away April 29, 2017 in a local nursing facility. She was the daughter of the late Madeline (Lingg) and Earl Loomis.

Eileen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandson was the apple of her eye. She was also a very kind and giving person. She enjoyed traveling and had worked as secretary for Arco Chemical.

Survivors include her husband, Carol Gene Rhodes; daughter, Carolyn Eddins and husband, Eric; grandson, Jeremy Rhodes; brother-in-law, Charlie Rhodes; sister-in-law, JoAnn Rhodes; special grandson, James Bagwell; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Pallbearers are Steve Waller, David Rhodes, Ben Butler, Chris Moss, Maitland Rhodes and Greg Rhodes.

Honorary pallbearer is Patricia Haynes.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Gipson Funeral Home.
