Doris Cathey

Doris was born October 26, 1948 in Grapevine, Texas, daughter to Lucille Tittel and Charlie Wallace. She passed away in her residence on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

Doris was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In her spare time, she loved sewing, working puzzle books, and growing flowers. Doris was a selfless person, she never thought of herself and would always put others first. She was a loving caregiver. Doris loved her church and was a longtime member of Redtown Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include husband, Archie T. Cathey of Pollok; son, Jimmy Cathey and wife, Cathy of Pollok; daughters, Shelia Seymore and husband, Derek of New Braunfels and Teresa Layton and husband, Brian of Pollok; grandchildren, Heather, Tiffany, Jordan, Shelby, Jakob, and Joshua; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, David Wallace and wife Hazel of Pollok; mother, Lucille Wallace of Pollok; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charlie Wallace; and brothers, Marvin Wallace, and Charles Ray (Stinker) Wallace.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:00 p.m. with service to follow Saturday at Redtown Missionary Baptist Church.
