Calvin "Bubba" Leland Lofton

Services for Calvin “Bubba” Lofton, 59, of Lufkin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Johnny Penney officiating. Interment will follow in the McKindree Cemetery.

Mr. Lofton was born November 1, 1959 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Mary Alice (Pitman) and Calvin Leland Lofton, Sr. He passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mr. Lofton was a employed with the City of Lufkin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading Western books. He also played baseball for the City of Lufkin. Mr. Lofton attended Denman Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sisters, Alice Marie Lofton of Lufkin and Leona Gay Jaramillo of Bryan; nephew, Calvin Rowland of Lufkin; niece, Lisa Rowland of Lufkin; aunts and uncles; and a number of other family members.

Mr. Lofton was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Pallbearers will be Marlin Pitman Jr., Jackie Nichols, Dustin Nichols, Kevin Doss, Rick Holland and Justin Pitman.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
