Anthony Joseph Niosi, Jr, 65, of Huntington was born February 27, 1947 in Brookland, New York, the son of the late Jerald Dean (Collins) and Anthony Joseph Niosi, Sr. He passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in a local hospital.
Anthony was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was retired from Lufkin Industries after 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing Dominos and “42”. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Niosi of Huntington; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Charlotte Cherry and children Aaron, Rachel and Sarah of Colorado and Jason and Jennifer Niosi of Lufkin and children Josh and Holli; daughters and sons-in-law, Angel and Jay Hines of Lufkin and children Brittney, Shelby and Mikayla and Casey and Justin Jones of Huntington and child Mason; daughter-in-law Dena Niosi of Lufkin and children Ashley, Lauren and Kamron; sisters, Dona Bass of Nacogdoches and Sharon Fuller of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his son, Michael Anthony Niosi.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Rice, Craig Morgan, Dean Brown, Donald Chamblee, Ricky Chamblee and Randy Colbert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles McCallum and Fred Wareing.
Services for Anthony will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. David Merritt officiating. Interment will follow in the Alazan Cemetery in Nacogdoches.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
