Zona Marie Barnes

Zona Marie (Wolf) Barnes, 92, of Lubbock, died peacefully on November 26, 2018. Zona was born in Loco, Texas to Luther Henry Wolf and Gertrude Naomi Wolf. She was married to the love of her life, William Thomas (Tom) Barnes for 49 years.

Zona worked for Southwestern Bell in Lubbock for over 35 years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom, daughter Pamela Jean, four brothers and two sisters.

Zona is survived by daughter Donna (Mike) Unger, granddaughter Misty Dawn, granddaughter Melissa (Jim) Barrett, grandson John (Dusti) Unger, three great- granddaughters, Ashleigh (Casey) Simmons, Aylah and Adelynn Barrett and great-great-granddaughter Griffin Leigh Simmons, two sisters, Jo Mumford and Mary Juanell Wolf. Also, many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff at Raider Ranch Isles Memory Care and Area Community Hospice for their most appreciated loving care of Zona during her final years.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Alzheimer’s Association or to a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, November 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Resthaven’s Mausoleum Chapel. Interment will be private at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
