Vera was born in Crosby County, Texas to Cecil and Louise Lynch, on November 18, 1938. She married her high school sweetheart, Gary Cox in 1957. Vera graduated from Lorenzo High School in Lorenzo, Texas. She went on to graduate from West Texas A&M University and dedicated her life to teaching children. She taught various grades and had a genuine love for her students; she truly wanted them to learn and had a desire to see them succeed. She was extremely passionate about special education.
Vera was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She had a fierce sense of humor and one of the most generous spirits on Earth. She enjoyed riding horses, being with her family and traveling every chance she had. She is already deeply missed.
The family would like to thank everyone that loved Vera and shared in her life.
She is survived by her three children, Dan Cox of Lubbock, Jon and Laurie Cox of Lubbock and Jonson and Kimberly Sandberg of Austin, Texas; sisters, Pam and Billy Hillin of Benbrook, Texas and Sarah White of Kansas; granddaughters, Codi Wiley and Caitlann Butler of Happy, Texas and Anna Grace Sandberg of Austin, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Sarah Jill, Hudson and Witten of Happy, Texas; and numerous students, family members and friends.
