He was born in Oklahoma City on February 7, 1924 to W.M. and Marion Blake. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a local business man in the Insurance and Real Estate industry. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason.
He is survived by two sons, Sam R. Blake, Jr. and wife Darla of Owasso, Ok and Jim Blake of Richardson, Tx, two grandchildren, Kayla and Ryan Blake of Owasso, Ok, two brothers, Jack Blake of Midland, Tx, John Blake of Austin, Tx and one sister Janice Anderson of Stockton, Ca. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 6-8pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank all of his many friends which made his life worth living. We especially want to thank God for blessing us with such a great Father. We Love you Dad, and will miss you very much.
