Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at First Christian Church – Hodges Chapel in Lubbock with Dr. Michael Passmore officiating and Rev. Jim Bales assisting. Family and friends are invited to view and sign the register book on Wednesday from 12pm to 6pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Robert was born on September 2, 1920, in Spur, Texas, to the late Rob and Kate (Hall) Davis. He married Patsy Ayers on June 28, 1942, in Slaton. Robert received his Bachelor of Science from Texas Tech University in 1942 and served in the Army from 1942 until 1946. Throughout his life he was active in his church, where he served as an Elder and active in his community. Robert was a family man, Christian, and a leader in business and industry. He was owner/operator of Supreme Feed Mills in Slaton, Texas and a member of Texas Grain and Feed Association, where he served as President in 1980-1981. Robert also received their highest honor, the Lone Star Award in 1984.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Pat Davis of Slaton; daughter, Robin Carter and husband Wade of Slaton; son, Richard “Dick” Davis and wife Faynel of Lubbock; four grandchildren: Stacy Loveless and husband Chris, Dub White and wife Tonya, Reagan Schoenhals and husband Mickey, and Blair Davis; eight great grandchildren: Brittany Loveless, Sloane Loveless, Darby Kate Loveless, Piper Loveless, Skyler White, Ryan White, Beckett Schoenhals, and Davis Schoenhals; and a sister, Vera Nell Ewers and husband Don of Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Emily Marie Davis.
