Richard R. Barton, 91, of Lubbock, passed away September 17, 2023 in Lubbock, TX. He was born to Henry and Lela (Bradley) Barton, December 22, 1931 near Hamlin, Texas. Richard graduated from Haskell High School in 1950. After high school we worked in the oilfield until entering the United States Army. Richard was in the Army from 1952 to 1954, he then attended Texas Technological College and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. After graduation from college, he was employed by the City of Lubbock Water Utilities Engineering until his retirement in 1996.
Richard is survived by; one son, Steve Barton and one daughter, Pamela Baker and husband Steve; two grandchildren, Chance Baker and wife, Heather and Whitney Crump and husband Chris; two great granddaughters and two great grandsons all of Lubbock.
A viewing & visitation for Richard will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, A celebration of life funeral service will occur Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
