Pearlie Jean Suttle

Pearlie Jean McCurry was born February 27, 1928 in Jayton, TX to the late Mark and Lillie Bell McCurry. Her family farmed in Kent and Lamb Counties before settling in Lubbock, TX. Pearlie graduated from Lubbock High School in 1945 and began her long career as a Telephone Operator for AT&T Telephone Company, retiring in 1990. In 1947 she met the love of her life, Lewis Suttle. They were married on April 12, 1947. For the next 47 years Lewis and Pearlie built a beautiful life together until he preceded her in death on February 9, 1994. After his passing Pearlie traveled all over the United States and visited many countries. She loved her family, friends, church, country and home. She was a charter member. of Southcrest Baptist Church and a founding member of the Scarlet Toppers of the Red Hat Society.

Pearlie Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; her mother and father, Mark and Lillie Bell McCurry; sister, Ferol Jones; brothers Lonnie and Douglas McCurry along with many other family members and friends she desperately missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Rhonda (Jim) Parrish of Shepherdsvile, KY; Tommy (Patti) Suttle of Port Hueneme, CA and Sheila (Gary) Kirby of Lubbock, TX. Her grandchildren who lovingly called her Nannie are Mark Wyatt of Quincy, MA; Mandy (Martin) Lambrecht of San Antonio, TX and Sara (Kris) Kerr of Wolfforth, TX. as well as her great grandchildren, Shelbie, Kylin, Kaitlyn and Kaydin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 6-8 PM with a Celebration of Pearlie’s life being held Friday, June 9, 2023 at 2PM. Both are to be held at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, 5740 19th ST; Lubbock, TX. Graveside service will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
