Paula Lopez, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 25, 2023. She was born on June 29, 1936, in Ingleside, Texas, to Manuela and Francisco Serna. She married the one and only single love of her life, Luis Lopez in June of 1954.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Luis in 1999, her youngest son Gaspar in 2017, her mother and father Manuela and Francisco, four brothers: Manuel, Silvester, Francisco Jr., Jesus; and two sisters, Leonor and Elodia.
Paula was an excellent homemaker and a phenomenal seamstress. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She cherished every moment of life with her family. She was kind, compassionate, had unconditional love for her family and a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Paula is survived by her identical twin sons Luis Jr. and Francisco, her only daughter Manuela and husband Charles Thibodeaux, two sisters Teresa Limas, and Eva Guerrero, and one brother Juan Serna, twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She has been an extremely loyal Dallas Cowboys fan since 1960!!
Services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home. A public viewing will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow and a reception will be held following committal services in the Resthaven Hospitality room.
