Visitation for Maria Martinez will be held tonight, August 12, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm in Resthaven Funeral Homes Abbey Chapel. A mass will be said Wednesday, August 13 at 10 am in St Patrick Catholic Church with Msgr. James O’Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Maria died Saturday August 9, 2014. She was born July 4, 1938 in Monterey, Mexico. She married Norberto Martinez April 27, 1955.
She is survived by her children, Mary Martinez-Prieto, Rosanna Salazar (Juan Jose), Joe Martinez (Estella), Teresa Martinez, Carlos Martinez, Irma Barajas (Jose) and Delia Gonzales (John) all of Lubbock; 3 sisters, Olga Garcia, Alicia Villiareal and Olivia Galaviz all of Lubbock; 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
