She was preceded in death by her sisters and brother; Peggy, Jean, Dorothy, Melba and Jimmy. They were all awaiting her arrival in heaven until the day she reunited with them on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
Margaret spent most of her youth playing softball, baseball, tennis and taking in and caring for stray dogs.
In her adult life she was blessed with two beautiful children, a son, Skip and a daughter, Jerry. She worked hard to support her children. She loved them both very much and devoted her life to working hard to support them both to ensure they had a good life. Throughout Margaret's life, family was always important to her so much so she was dubbed the family photographer.
She was surrounded by five generations of love and devotion from sisters, brother, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren. She was loving and giving; so much so, she was affectionately known as the "bag lady". She was never empty handed when she came to visit and walked in the door with bags on her arms full of surprises and treats. She always wanted to make it better for those she loved and adored-never thinking of herself.
In her later years, Margaret lived with her daughter, Jerry and their two dogs, Jessie and Zoe. She enjoyed reading the newspaper, books about history and doing crossword puzzles. Seeing only the good in others, she touched so many lives in the 94 years she spent on this earth. All that knew her loved her and she felt the same about them. Above all else, the matriarch of our family, also lovingly known as Mom, Grandmother and GG, was the most loving, kind-hearted person we have ever known.
She is survived by her son, Harry "Skip" Weatherford and wife Carol; her daughter Jerry Lee Heibel; granddaughters, Stevie Cruz and husband Ruben, Tara Menard and husband Danny, Victoria Metzler and husband Randy; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Joshua, Blake, Chelcee, Melody and Samantha; great –great-grandchildren, Hadley, Jocelynn, Tatum, Ruby and Colt.
Margaret was an amazing woman who left a lasting legacy of her love and devotion to our family and will be greatly missed.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2019 in Duncanville, Texas at Little Bethel Memorial Park.
Margaret was an avid supporter of the stray dog shelter in gun barrel city. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
