Linda Guy Jarman, age 70, of Lubbock, Texas, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at University Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through her twelve year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of James F. Jarman of Lubbock.
Linda was born in Gorman, Texas on July 5, 1942 and grew up in Lovington, New Mexico. She was the daughter of the late W.O. and Juanita Guy. Besides her husband, James, Linda is survived by her daughter and husband, Jim and Dawn Burke of Lubbock and son and wife, Jason and Tammy Jarman of Charleston, S.C., her two brothers and their wives, Jerry and Pat of Hobbs, New Mexico, Bennie and Kay of Katy, Texas, and her sister, Joan Guy of El Paso, Texas.
Linda was an incredible and compassionate person who loved spending time with her grandchildren Taylor Hendrix, Jace and McKenna Burke of Lubbock and Abigail Jarman of Charleston, S.C. which were her pride and joy. Linda faithfully cared for her family and friends through her passion for cooking, gardening, and her many craft adventures with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be today, June 13, 2013 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Pastor Mike Martindale officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
