Laurie Delle Hubbard

Laurie Delle Davis Hubbard, 95, entered into eternal life on June 29, 2013. Born in Oxford, MS on August 26, 1917, she was the daughter of Elgin and Sadie Davis. In late 1919, Laurie and her family moved to Lamesa where she attended school and met the love of her life, Fred Hubbard. She and Fred eloped in 1935 on her 18th birthday and were married for 63 years. They were blessed with one child, their daughter, Joy. Laurie and Fred lived in Cotton Center and moved to Lubbock in 1976. They were long time faithful members of Agape Methodist Church.

Laurie is predeceased by her parents; brothers, Edd Davis and Elgin Davis; sister, Beth Wright her husband Fred and her son-in-law, W.W. Harkleroad. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Harkleroad of Seabrook; granddaughters, Cyressa Harkleroad of Seabrook and Elizabeth Sullivan and her husband Tom of Friendswood; great-grandson, Sean Sullivan of Friendswood; sister, Dorothy Hayes of San Angelo; and sister-in-law, Louise Davis of Austin.

Funeral services for Laurie will be 10a.m. today in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Don Holladay officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
