Larry was born in Lubbock, Texas on July 30, 1946 to Duncan D.B. and Louise Chesser Clark. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1965. He attended Texas Tech for 3 years. He also worked for St. Mary’s Hospital. He also served as outreach and music minister of several churches in Garland, Lubbock, Bryan, Plano and Allen, Texas. He worked for International Plumbing Supply, Hughes Supply and National Wholesale Plumbing Supply as a salesman collectively for 30 years in the DFW area. He spent most of his adult years in Allen, married to Barbara Ward Clark for 32 years. He later retired and relocated to Waxahachie to be close to his children.
Larry was a lover of southern gospel music and sharing the gospel with people he met. He was dedicated to his love for Christ and loved singing in the choir at church. In his spare time, he loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys, collecting flowers, shopping and talking to anyone he met. He never met a stranger and always wanted to help his plumbing customers with anything he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duncan and Louise Clark. He is survived by his daughter Amy and husband Michael Duckett, daughter Abby, and former wife, Barbara, all of Waxahachie, Texas, along with many cousins.
Visitation will be at 2 pm before service time. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 3:30 pm.
