Wayne was born in Lynn County, Texas, November 8, 1929. He was a graduate of Idalou High School. He married Doris Jeanelle (Jones) Williams, November 7, 1949. They remained married until her passing. Wayne had a career in Aicraft Mechanics and worked with Horton Aero Service. Wayne enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and gardening but most of all he loved to spend time with his family.
Wayne is survived by his children, Kenny Williams, Debra Edwards, Curtis Williams and Stephen and Karen Book; ten grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Virginia Dunn, Royce Williams and Doug and Sandye Williams.
A visitation for Wayne will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM at First Church Of The Nazarene, 6110 Chicago Ave., Lubbock, Texas.
Wayne will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park, 5740 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Tommy Herron, Tye Clay, Brian Williams, Ben Williams, Joel Book, Trevor Clay, Bryce Herron, Zach Herron and Russell Williams.
