Joyce Marie Kiker

Joyce Marie Kiker, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on December 16th, 2024 at the age of 90. Joyce Marie Seymore was born on January 16th 1934, in the country at the family home near Como, Texas. After graduating from Como High School, she moved to Dallas to work. There she met and married the love of her life Leonard Barclay Kiker on March 15, 1952. Joyce and Barclay raised their 3 children in Dallas before they were transferred to Lubbock in 1976. They were married for 43 years before Barclay’s death in 1995.

Joyce’s favorite career was as a wife and mother. She retired from Texas Tech Law School, working as a library assistant. Joyce was a devoted member of the Churches of Christ. Her passion was caring for her family. Hobbies included cooking, quilting, crocheting, needle work, cross-stitch, sewing, and travel. She also enjoyed volunteer work at UMC and Sunset Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barclay Kiker, son, Ronald Kiker, and grandson, Matthew Kiker.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Neely(David) and Mark Kiker(Lori) and by her grandchildren, Jason Neely (Lindsey), Brandon Neely, Brett Neely(Darby), Amanda Bruce(Justin) Jessica Bratcher(C J) and Sarah Nicole Kiker, great grandchildren Stella Neely, Kaylie Bruce, Wesley Bruce, Royce Bratcher, and Layla Neely and sister Edna Lee Hannon as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements will be held at 10 am, 12/23/24 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
