Jeany was born on March 2,1942, in San Angelo, Texas. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1961 and was named Southern Belle of Tascosa. She attended Texas Tech University where she was a member of Tri Delta Sorority and went on to graduate from Texas Tech University in 1965. Jeany was a gifted teacher and touched the lives of many students as well as adults.
Jeany worked in many areas of service for young people and adults. She especially enjoyed her work at Cedar Hill High School, Sunset High School, Van Elementary School, Odessa College’s Library, Midland College Registrar’s Office, Wayland Baptist University’s English Department, Estacado High School, LaPlata Junior High, Levelland Junior High, Plainview High School, Harris Avenue Baptist Church and Meals on Wheels. Her love and devotion to her husband, girls and grandchildren led her to become an avid supporter of athletics, theater, and any activity in which her grandchildren participated. She loved Texas Tech and Lubbock Christian University.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ron Mayberry, of Lubbock, Texas; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Ron Arrington of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Mendi and Lance Melton of Austin,Texas; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Bitsy Mayberry of New Braunfels,Texas; her nephew and wife, Matt and Jessica Mayberry and their two children, Bear and Kylie, of San Antonio, Texas; her niece, Morgan Mayberry and son, Gunner Boyd, of New Braunfels,Texas; her aunt, Doris Motl of San Angelo, Texas; her great niece and husband, Debbie and Toot Tomerlin, of San Angelo, Texas; her great nephew and wife, Craig and Debbie Kleypas, of San Angelo, Texas; and numerous great nieces and nephews of San Angelo, Texas. The loves of her life were her six grandchildren and two granddaughters-in-love: Robbey Arrington and Nate Arrington of Carlsbad, New Mexico; Marcus and Katherine Arrington of Lubbock, Texas; Austin and Kyler Rigsby of Midlothian, Texas; and Mikah Melton and Abbi Melton of Austin, Texas. She also has a precious great grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marcy Mayberry.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel in Lubbock, Texas. Honorary pallbearers will be her six grandchildren: Robbey, Marcus, Austin, Nate, Mikah, and Abbi.
