Henry (Hank) Paul Obirek of Lubbock TX passed away suddenly Saturday October 13, 2018 at 81. He was born in Chicago IL. On May 22nd, 1937. Hank graduated from Leo High School in Chicago, and received a Technical Degree from DeVry University.
Hank served in the United States Navy from 1964 till 1968 as a printer. He continued his work as a printer after leaving the navy. When Hank moved his family to Lubbock, he owned and operated a Television and radio repair shop. He completed his career as a Maintenance Engineer in the laundry industry until he retired in 2002.
Hank had a passion for wood working, he and his wood working group spent many hours making toys and delivering to children at local hospitals. Hank grew up in Chicago playing street hockey and enjoyed watching NHL hockey games regularly, as well as NFL football.
Hank was survived by his three children, Paul Obirek, and wife Debbie from GA., daughter Cindy Gage and husband Jeff of Lubbock. His daughter Necole Enloe and her husband Dean of Colorado. Three grandchildren, Colton Duran of Delta Colorado. Tasha Melcher and her husband Blake of Midland. Stephen Gage, and Courtney Gage of Lubbock. Great grandchildren Cali Duran and Dean Fisher. His Sisters, Rita Chamberlick and Husband Hill of IL., and Lois Adochio and Husband Bob of WI. He also leaves behind many brother and sister In-laws as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and his loving wife Sandra Obirek who passed away in 2004.
There will be viewing at Resthaven Funeral Home Thursday October 18th from 5:30-8:00. Family will receive friends at 6:30. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday October 19th, same location.
