He was born October 20, 1956 in El Paso, Texas to TJ and Martha Whitson.
Harvey attended Burges High School in El Paso, then went on to attend El Paso Community College. He later attended South Plains, Texas Tech and Wayland Baptist College. Harvey worked for Popular Dry Goods and Safeway Supermarkets, then Furrs Supermarkets, he then went on to work for University Medical Center, Covenant Medical Center and Covenant Women’s and Children in various roles. Harvey enjoyed animals, pets, social gatherings and traveling.
His parents, TJ and Martha Whitson, preceded him in death.
Those left to cherish his memory are his husband, B. Michael Staponavich, his aunt, Teresa Aynes, his sister-in-law, Susanne Rodarte and husband Jose Luis, numerous cousins including Veronica Aynes and Ruben Aynes and numerous close friends (family).
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024 in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home. A graveside celebration of Harvey’s life will held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024 in Evergreen Cemetery East in El Paso, TX.
