Ernest Dale Hodge

Ernest is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Clark Hodge. He is survived by his three children, Ernest Dale Hodge II, Erica Lynn Rogers, and Evan Dale Hodge; five beloved grandchildren, Jordan, Kelleigh, Kenneth, Kaelyn, and Yali; as well as three sisters, Rita Michael-Allen, Margaret Flore, and Teresa Quinn, and two brothers, Allen Hodge and Glenn Hodge.

After graduating high school, Ernest proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1977, stationed in Oakland, California. Following his military service, he dedicated 40 years to the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in Lubbock.

A passionate sports fan, Ernest cheered for the San Francisco 49ers and Texas Tech Red Raiders. He enjoyed attending football and baseball games, traveling, and relishing the music of 70s rock and roll concerts. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel, located at 5740 19th St, Lubbock, TX 79407.

Ernest will be remembered for his love of family, the San Francisco 49ers, his unwavering spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed.
