David Allan Wintroath of Lubbock, TX passed away on March 5, 2023 at Covenant Medical Center. He was born on January 21, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA to Clarence and Jean Wintroath. David enlisted in the Navy in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1968 to finish his college education at the University of Tennessee. He graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. David moved to Lubbock, TX and began his long career in medical sales. He later met Betty Ann Craddick and they married in 1972. They had three daughters. David was an incredibly kind, compassionate man and loved his family fiercely. He was an active parishioner at Christ the King Cathedral and was a Eucharistic Minister who passed out Communion every Friday at Covenant Medical Center. He also volunteered 2 to 3 times a week at Lubbock Meals on Wheels. David loved to learn and was constantly trying new things. He played the piano and banjo, had his pilot’s license and scuba certification, and was an extremely gifted artist.
David is survived by his daughters, Tracy Alexander of Lubbock, TX, Kelly Meier of Waco, TX, and Stephanie Tilley of Slaton, TX and their families. He is also survived by his brother Dale Wintroath of Little Rock, AR. David was a beloved Pop to Haleigh and Preston Alexander; Mark, Molly, and Mack Meier, and Rhiana and Dylan Tilley. He is proceeded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Wintroath and his parents Clarence and Jean Wintroath.
A Rosary and a Memorial Mass will be held at Christ the King Cathedral on Saturday, March 18 in Lubbock, TX at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lubbock Meals on Wheels and Catholic Family Services.
