David was born on July 18, 1939 in Evansville, Indiana, to parents Shirland and Nellie Sisson. He served his country with the United States Army from 1954 to 1955. He was a member of the Lubbock Lions Club and the Rolling Ghost Hockey team. He played extensively throughout the United States in fourteen National Championships and four world tournaments. He was a partner in D & L Masonry for forty-five years. The rest of his life was spent being an amazing husband, Daddy and Papa.
David was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Edwin and Ricky as well as his precious grandson Haden Welch.
David is survived by wife Kathy Sisson who he married in Hollis, Oklahoma on December 9, 1974. He is survived by his five daughters April Bannert of San Antonio, Tori Welch, Stephanie Henley, Carrie Heaton all of Lubbock, Pam Taylor of Wolfforth, two sons Brent Sisson and Garrel Sisson of Lubbock. David also has thirteen amazing grandchildren who he adored and two on the way.
Our devoted husband, Daddy and Papa taught us the importance of hard work and providing for our families. He was always a strong, silent and a non confrontational man. David Sisson had an adoration for his family, life, home and John Wayne!
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 6p.m. to 8 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Funeral service Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Heart of Worship Church, 19101 FM 1730 (Slide Rd, 1 block N. of Hwy 41) with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
