Christi Purtell, 73, passed away Wednesday February 6, 2013 in Lubbock. She was born November 24, 1939 in Dallas, Texas to James and Hibernia Nevitt. She graduated from Lubbock High School. Christi worked for the Avalanche Journal for 10 years and was a Real Estate Broker for 40 years also belonging to the Lubbock Association of Real-tors.
Survivors include sons, Jim Purtell and his wife Carolanne and Sean Purtell and his wife Teresa; daughter, Katy Wall-ney and husband Mark; sister Marion Washburn and husband Frank; grandchildren, Sarah Purtell, Adam Purtell, Caleb Purtell, Allison Purtell, Derek Purtell and Erin Wallney; great-grandchildren, Brynlee and McKenzie and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Erin Sneed.
Visitation will be held tonight from 5 to 7 pm with a rosary at 7 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday February 8 at 10 am in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
