Cecil was a graduate of Lubbock High School, served in the U.S. Army and worked for Southwest Bell for over 35 years. He enjoyed bowling, playing 42 and was a member of the Nifty Fifty Car Club. He married Margie Fewell on August 26, 1972.
Cecil is survived by 2 sons, Jimmy Matsler and wife Karen of Arlington, TX and Jeffrey Matsler and wife Mary of Tulia; sister, Debbie Smith of Lubbock; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Vicki Hunter and sister Wanda Cutbirth.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Thursday, November 6 at 11 am in Resthaven Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Amarillo Alzheimers Academy at Texas Tech.
