She married Hollis Boyd Whalen on November 24, 1949. Jean was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church.
Betty worked in bookkeeping for Hesters Office Supply for many years and loved Homemaking. Betty had a love for her family, but some may say she loved the Dallas Cowboys more. Above all else Betty will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Tartaglione of Lubbock, Renea and husband Charles Wells of Lubbock; four grandchildren: Jennifer Busby, Leslie Koetting, Heather Greger, Brandi Wells; and great-grandchildren, Bella, Bonnee, Jude, Cole, Cade, Andrew, Emily, Gavin, Laura Beth.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Hollis Boyd Whalen, parents; Joe Niece and Ruby Jerden, siblings; Joann Whalen and Danny Jerden.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 27, 2024, at Resthaven Funeral Home.
A Graveside will follow at 11:30 A.M. at Resthaven Memorial Park.
