He was born in Wichita Falls TX on February 26, 1941. He graduated from Aspermont High School in 1959, and attended McMurry College in Abilene TX.
He married Ruth Ann Aycock, his high school sweetheart on March 26, 1960.
He had a career in the oilfield industry for 55 years. He worked for Halliburton Services Co for over 20 years and then was self employed as an oilfield consultant. He worked eight years in the Middle East in the 1970s in the countries of Egypt, Libya, Abu Dhabi, Iran, and Pakistan.
He always worked very hard and was a good provider for his family. He loved God and his country and never met a stranger. He was always willing to help anyone in anyway he could.
He was a member of the Woodrow Baptist Church. He enjoyed antique collecting, model railroading, fishing, hunting and was a wealth of knowledge on history and able to repair most anything.
He was survived by his wife of 57 years, 4 wonderful children, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one brother and sister.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 2:00 pm on September 2, 2017 at Woodrow Baptist Church. Arrangements under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Lubbock, TX.
