James Allen Ross (Allen), 79, passed away, Monday, December 30, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home with Darrel McMillan officiating, interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Keith Hitt, Aaron Hitt, Christian Hitt, Steve Hudson, Bryan Ross, Rick DeLa Garza, Jack Carlilie, and Bobby Richey.
Allen was born June 25, 1934 in Lubbock County to JW and Eva Lawson Ross, Raised in Lubbock, Texas; He graduated from Lubbock High in 1953, attended Texas Tech University and was involved in the cotton industry for over 50 years.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Gloria Ross
Two sons- Ken of Wolfforth who has one son Bryan, and two daughters Kennedi and Karah. Bobby of Plainview who is married to Shonda and has two daughters Shayla and Alyssa.
One great grandchild-Tyan
Two brothers- Clayton Ross of Lubbock, Doug Ross of Montgomery, Alabama
He was preceded in death by his father J.W. Ross and his mother Eva Lawson Ross.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to Hospice of Lubbock.
