You will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing you. You were always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Thank you for loving mom, and Kassie, Kris and I as your own. Part 2:
Another time they decided to fish for crappie in the creek behind our house. Alan had heard that Stink Bait was what they liked. Not having access to any, they decided to make their own. Ground cotton seed was an ingredient. Randy got our mom's meat grinder for this task and promptly broke it grinding the seeds. He was in huge trouble.

Alan taught Randy to cuss. When he tried those words out later at school, he was in huge trouble again. (I guess you see the theme going on here…)

If there was a good rain, they were hunting for string and bacon to fish for crawdads in the bar ditch.

Randy said he always thought Alan was a botanist or biologist at heart.

They would go skinny dipping in the tank. Uncle Ivan had an amazing ability to float on his back. He would float and smoke his pipe while Alan and Randy would push him around like a kick board.

Alan's dad, Ivan Little, was from Woodson, a small town southeast of Lubbock. Every summer their whole family would come for a week, sometimes two weeks. Usually around the 4th of July. They would arrive at our (my dad was Ivan's brother) house with a large grocery sack full of fireworks. My brother Randy was just a little younger than Alan and they would rarely make it inside the whole time.

Randy said one summer, Alan came talking about a WWI grenade called the Potato Masher. They decided to make one and scoured our dad's stock of farm equipment for the right things.
Those things were 2 huge bolts and 1 nut. The nut was screwed onto the end of one bolt just enough to catch. If you sat the bolt with the nut up, a small bowl was created. They then packed this bowl with gun powder from firecrackers and with match heads. They would screw the other bolt onto the open end of the nut. When thrown on the highway so that it landed on a bolt, it would explode and blow the bolt out. To avoid having to search for the bolts, they used a length of baling wire attached to the head of each bolt. So much fun—until—while tightening the bolt with a wrench, it went off in Randy's hands. He couldn't hear for the longest time.

You will be so missed, Big Al.  Thank you for caring for and loving my momma....and for always being there for my brother, sister and I as if we were your own. I am comforted knowing your parents, little brother and Bones greeted you at the pearly gates with open arms. We love you very much. ❤️
