Ron was born 1941 in Oak Park, IL and spent his early years in Mt. Prospect, IL. He was an Eagle Scout, worked on a horse ranch in summers, ran track and cross country, and graduated from Arlington Heights High School.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology from North Park College in Chicago. He continued running cross country during college. Ron proudly served in the Army in Washington D.C. at Walter Reed Army Hospital and was stationed in Ethiopia. He returned to Illinois to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree from National School of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL.
Ron met Kathie Kwiecinski, LPN while they were both working at Skokie Valley Hospital, and they married in 1972. They moved to Loveland later that year.
Ron cared for countless patients in his Loveland chiropractic practice for 45 years. He then semi-retired and started a second career at Hach Danaher, where he truly enjoyed his work and colleagues. He finally retired from Hach at age 80.
Ron was an avid chess enthusiast, and loved volunteering with the Chess Club for Kids at the Loveland Public Library. He also loved RV camping, nature activities, Geology, and his 3 cats.
He is survived by Kathie Schroeder, his beloved wife of 50 years; his loving children daughter Lexine Schroeder of San Diego and son Matt Schroeder of Wheeling, IL; sisters Sue Lothary (Gunther) of FL, Jean Schubert (Jerry) of WI; brother-in-law Greg Kwiecinski of IL, and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Marge Schroeder, and sister Carol Bruce (Jim).
A Celebration of Life will be held at Allnutt Funeral Service- Hunter Chapel, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, Colorado 80538 Tuesday, February 14th at 12:00 pm, luncheon to follow. Cremation has been completed, private burial will be at a later date.
