Patrick John Sheridan, 91, of Loveland, Colorado passed away at Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins, Colorado on November 29, 2023. He was born on November 23, 1932, to Mary Rose (Urbanski) and Howard John Sheridan of Girard, Illinois. He was an only child. The family moved to Virden, Illinois where Patrick played baseball and was also a star basketball player in high school for the Virden Bulldogs. He was proud of his Irish and Hungarian heritage.
Patrick married Adele Korte on September 4, 1954, at Immaculate Conception Church in Pierron, Illinois. Patrick attained the rank of USAF A2C Airman stationed in Thule Air Force Base, Greenland. He also served at Ellsworth AFB, Sheppard AFB, and Chanute AFB in Rantoul, Illinois. He worked on both the B-29 and B-36 aircraft. He was dedicated to the service of his country.
From Rantoul, the family moved to Springfield, Illinois and later to Longmont, Colorado. Patrick performed work for the Dept. of Defense as a quality control inspector and relocated to Chantilly, Virginia prior to retiring and living in Castle Rock, Colorado. Patrick and Adele both supported their children in numerous activities, sports, and the Boy Scouts. Patrick was also a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, actively serving his church and his community.
After Adele retired, they chose Loveland, Colorado as their home. They were active members of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Patrick and Adele had a great love of the scenic outdoors and made frequent family outings to the mountains. They loved to travel throughout America and visit the many beautiful National Parks. Patrick was an avid wood crafter and made many fine pieces including a grandfather clock.
Patrick is survived by his five children: Mike (Hallie) Sheridan of Conifer, CO; Jim (Salli) Sheridan of Ammon, ID; Kathy (Bob) Sula of Winona, MN; Tom (Christy) Sheridan of Longmont, CO; and Dennis (Sherry) Sheridan of Brighton, CO. Grandchildren include Patrick (Cerisa) Sheridan, Michael Sheridan, Quintin Sheridan, Jennifer (Juan) Murillo, Tom (Britney) Sula, Brad Sula, Shanna (Marco) Dominguez, Madeline Sheridan, Natalie Sheridan, and Drake Sheridan. Great grandchildren include Paolo Murillo, Mason and Raegan Sula, Vance Sheridan, and Jayslea and Mason Dominguez. He is also survived by his cousins Kevin Urbanski of Petersburg, Illinois, and Mary Urbanski of Chicago, Illinois.
Patrick brought much joy and a bright wit to those he encountered daily, and his uplifting outlook will be keenly missed.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 6 from 4-6 pm at Allnutt Funeral Service, Hunter Chapel, Loveland. A Rosary will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, December 7, prior to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A luncheon reception follows in the Bread of Life Church Hall. Inurnment TBD at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
