Margaret "Peggy" Ponder

An intimate Graveside Service will be held for family and friends on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11am at Loveland Burial Park in Loveland, Colorado, after which Peggy will be laid to eternal rest.

Peggy was born on July 15, 1939, in Loveland, Colorado to Wilma May (nee Boat) and Paul Elwood Klingenberg and moved to Denver when she was 3 years old. She was the younger of 2 children, having an older brother, Larry. Her parents divorced and each remarried. Her mother, Wilma married Marcus Linzy James III. Her father, Paul married Freda Ethel Wilmoth. She was preceded in death by her son, parents, stepparents, and former husband.

Peggy graduated from North High School in 1957 and immediately married Billy Raye Ponder on June 7, 1957, and had three daughters, Lori Jane (born in March 1958), Chloe Lynn (born in November 1959), and Erin Denise (born in August 1967). Their son, Kevin Raye Ponder was stillborn on April 3, 1962. Peggy and Billy separated and finally divorced in 1977. Peggy worked several clerical jobs over the years and retired from the National Park Service in 2001.

Peggy is survived by her daughters, Lori Ponder, Chloe Williams (husband Richard), Erin Gondolfi (husband Steven), and granddaughter Hannah Williams.
