John and I met Sophomore year at Parkway West and became friends playing football together, hanging out and cruising around in his Beetle Bug… He was strong and stoic when his dad died when we were in HS…He loved playing Rugby and Skiing …We reconnected prior to our 30th reunion meeting up prior to the  milestone…He showed us around Denver when I visited him in Colorado several years ago…. Just a couple years ago I took him out for Gyros when he was in St. Louis for a family funeral… He had an infectious personality and a funny laugh and I was really looking forward to hanging out on our next Ski Trip and our upcoming 40th reunion in 2023…R.I.P. to his family and friends… He was a cool dude and was very successful in his financial business…He was one of the good guys…🙏🥲

John will always hold a special place in my heart. We shared many wonderful times together both in Colorado & San Diego. I will never forget his laugh, nor the love he had for his daughters, his mother & family.  Although I didn’t meet them, I truly felt how much he loved them. He always spoke with pride about them. We created memories while hiking, playing tennis, biking around Berthoud, going to the golfing range, and going to the beach.  He loved his back yard, especially the beautiful roses that were in array of colors. We had so much laughter over silly things. Although we went our separate ways, I still cared for him. I am truly saddened to know he has passed. 
I miss his laugh and carefree spirit. He left us way too early…. RIP John

      He was born four days before me, and I've been catching up ever since. Cousins, we grew up together, and John was a foundational fixture in my life. When I went to the wrong college, John invited me to visit him at CU, thanks especially for that brother.  We sweated and bled playing rugby in Boulder. He had a career in St. Louis, then Colorado, where a few years later I met him at the office and as we pulled in to his house he was mobbed by his herd of lovely little girls. He managed to get in the door before allowing them to tackle him.  It was a beautiful scene. 
      Two years ago I visited him after one of his episodes, and he worked hard to convince us both that he was just fine. We both wanted to believe it, so we did. I went home and called to check in. "How's the ticker" I'd  ask, "I'm great" he'd say "doctor says I'm great." Then he said he was moving, somewhere where it didn't snow. I told him to bring his rod and meet me at the cabin in Carolina. We knew it wouldn't happen, but it was nice to imagine. 
     I took for granted that he'd always be there.  Goodbye Johnny
