Jody was born on January 12, 1973 to Rita Greywood (Vermeer) and Randy Gerdes in Montevideo, MN. They resided in Montevideo until 1988 when they moved to Loveland, CO, where Jody graduated from Loveland High School in 1991.
In 1989, Jody met her high school sweetheart and soon to be husband Tim Brown at Loveland, CO. They dated for a number of years before getting married in Estes Park, CO in 1998 and joining in a life-long marriage residing in Loveland, Berthoud and Johnstown, CO. Jody & Tim have two wonderful children, Noah and Maggie Brown, both of Johnstown, CO.
After graduating high school, Jody began working as a Nanny and then at an Alzheimer’s Care Facility, both in Fort Collins, CO. This work appealed to her tender heart and caring spirit for all ages. Once she had children, Jody was a stay-at-home mom during their early years. Then as the children became school age, she started working along side her husband at Colorado Tractor Corp, a Brown family owned farm equipment business. While working there she began to develop her true passions of decorating with and merchandising vintage goods.
Jody started her business of manufacturing and repurposing household items in 2006, which she started selling at church craft fairs and then popup markets. Eventually she grew her businesses to owning her own popup markets, Junktopia and The French Nest, in Northern Colorado. Continuing to follow her passions and dreams, Jody was then able to open a retail location in downtown Greeley, CO named Midwest Market Vintage Goods. Jody’s store is her masterpiece and operated by Jody and her amazing children.
Jody is survived by her husband Tim Brown and two children Noah & Maggie Brown of Johnstown, CO; mother Rita Greywood and step-father Robert Greywood of Fort Collins, CO along with her father Randy Gerdes and step-mother Maggie Gerdes of Loveland, CO and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jody is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, John & Ada Vermeer of Loveland, CO and Elmer & Annie Gerdes of Montevideo, MN.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 14th, 2021 at 10:00am at Rez.Church in Loveland, CO. There will be visitation prior to the funeral from 9:00am to 9:45am.
