Cheryl Kay Nelson

Cheryl was born on November 14th, 1956 in Longmont to Ruby and Arner Heitt. She married her high school sweetheart, Jim, in 1980. They spent the majority their married years residing in Lafayette where they raised their two girls, Lindsey and Stefanie. Cheryl followed her mother into the dental business where she enjoyed interacting with patients and co-workers alike.

More than anything, Cheryl was a devoted wife, mother and grandma. She loved spending time with Jim at their cabin in Northern Colorado and being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Cheryl was best friends with her daughters, having recently travelled to Napa wine country with them, and always enjoyed watching her grandchildren in all their activities and sports.

Cheryl is survived by her loving family members, including her husband, Jim; her daughters and sons-in-law Lindsey & Matt and Stefanie & Brian; her grandchildren Avery, Asher, Emilia & Adalynn; her brother and his wife, Ken & Margy; and her faithful dog, Jax. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arner and Ruby.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday November 3rd at 10:00 am at Grace Community Church in Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
