Betty was born in Loveland, Colorado on August 6th, 1930. Betty left school before graduating to take care of her younger siblings. Betty enjoyed a long and diverse working career, culminating in a position as a Quality Assurance Supervisor at Hewlett Packard.
Betty was among the hardest working people any of her relatives ever knew. She worked hard for her family, whether as the breadwinner or bread baker, and always with a smile and love in her heart. Her love and care did not extend to just family, but to friends and strangers alike, because Betty loved people and sought their wellbeing and comfort with a mother’s tenacity. Often what she offered was some of the best German homestyle cooking this side of the Atlantic. But Betty also had a passion for simple pleasures and carefree fun. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. In her younger days, Betty could wear out the dance floor and any partner who had the honor of sharing it with her. Betty’s energy and enthusiasm translated to every aspect of her life and everyone around her. She brightened a room with her presence, and offered words of encouragement and wisdom that both cut to the truth and bolstered your heart. Betty was the ‘good one’, as her family would know, for her honest and genuine endeavor at life, which included all of us.
The funeral service will be held at Loveland Burial Park on Wednesday April, 24th at 11:00 AM with Pastor Joel. A memorial celebrating Betty and her son Steven will follow this summer, the month of July, at Lebsack (Namaqua) Park. Date and time forthcoming.
