William Gordon Whalen, 78, passed away February 28, 2011 in Lexington. He was born on December 30, 1932 to the late John L. and Helen Mentro Whalen. He was a long time resident of Stewart Home School in Frankfort, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, John E. Whalen Sr. and Donald C. Whalen.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews and the loving caregivers at Stewart Home School. The University of Kentucky has lost their greatest fan.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Saturday March 5, 2011 at 2pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven with private burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12-2 on Saturday at the funeral home.
