William 'Bill' Orand Hogan, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on May 26, 2016 at his home, surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born August 24, 1932 in Louisville to the late James and Victoria Hogan.
A successful and innovative entrepreneur, Bill was the retired Owner and President of several Cemeteries in the Southeast. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Bill will be remembered as one who always put his beloved family first, for his loyalty to friends, generosity in sharing his successes and resilience in the face of adversity. His interests ranged from poetry to pinochle and he was an especially skilled woodcrafter. Known for his wit and humor, his gift for storytelling was a source of endless entertainment for family and friends.
In addition to his parents Bill is preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, the former Joan Marie Belvoix; sisters Helen, Marjorie Staten, MaryAnn Brown and Rose Tesi; brother James Hogan. Bill is survived by his three children, Paula Pottinger (Scott), Andrea Kaelin (David, dec.) and William Glenn Hogan (Jessica); sisters Patricia McLaughlin, Kathleen 'Kitty' Parker and Eva 'Deen' Hogan, brothers-in-law Joseph Staten and Jim Parker and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that any expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in Bill's name to: The Kentucky Humane Society.
A mass and memorial service will be held for the family at the Church of the Epiphany.
