He was preceded in death by his Parents Elmo and Opal Travis, Sisters, Jewell Frasure (Tim), and Lola Travis and many other family members.
Wendy was an accomplished individual with many hobbies, skills, and great knowledge of the outdoors. Wendy worked hard to put himself through college at J.B.Speed School of Engineering at the University of Louisville in which he earned a Bachelors and Masters of Chemical Engineering. Also, while in college Wendy joined and served as an officer in the United States Air Force.
Wendy led a successful career as an engineer and worked for various companies throughout his life. Wendy lived in Mobile Alabama for 30 years where he enjoyed ocean fishing, photography, reading, and tinkering on his many cars and home.
Wendy is survived by his two sons Brian Travis (Kim) and Gary Travis (Lora), 6 Grandchildren, Numerous Nieces and Nephews, and many friends.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11am at the Advantage Funeral Home – Hardy Chapel, with Burial following in Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
