Walter R Braden Sr.

He was born September 15, 1926 in Louisville, KY. He is one of three children to the late Willis R. Braden Sr. and Armella May Braden and was a life-long resident of the Louisville area. He was a member of Meadowview Presbyterian Church, Audubon Country Club and was a proud graduate of Male High School.

After serving in the United States Army during WW II, Walter was the founder of Braden Insurance Agency, which continues to serve the Louisville Area independently since 1961. He served as the president of the Kentucky Association of Mutual Insurance Agents

Walter was a devoted husband to his wife, Virginia, and they enjoyed nothing more than spending time together at their insurance office. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville and a loyal Cardinal fan.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Virginia Prater Braden and his grandchildren, Christy Lee Braden and Eric Lawrence Holsclaw and his beloved Yorkie Sonny Ray.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Walter R. Braden Jr. ( Peggy) and Kathy Braden (Jack Goffin), grandchildren Walter R Braden III “Trey” (Nadia), Amy Hughes (Jim), Daniel Skaggs, Andrea Wyndham (Chris) and Laura Holsclaw, 8 great grandchildren, and his devoted companion Joy Raisor.

His Funeral will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Resthaven Memorial Park in the Last Supper Mausoleum Chapel.

Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218..
