Born in Louisville, Kentucky on Tuesday, November 25, 1947. Thomas was the son of the late Reuben Williams, Sr. & Mary Catherine McGowan. He was a member of the Calvary Holiness Church & was a retired Fork Lift Operator for Phillip Morris, with over 30 years of service. With pride & honor, Thomas served his nation in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his tenure, Thomas served as a Private E-1 & Specialist 4th Class, serving as a representative in Engineer Equipment Maintenance. He was a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic & was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal. Vietnam Campaign Medal & the Good Conduct Medal. Thomas was a huge U.K. Fan, loved old cars, working crossword puzzles & traveling after his retirement.
Besides his parents, Reuben, Sr. & Mary Catherine Williams; his brother, James Robert Williams; nephew, Kenneth Hull; brother – in – law, Harry Hull; & sister – in – law, Patty Williams, precede Thomas in his passing.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Sue Williams; daughters, Melissa Williams & Carrie (Travis) Mattingly; brother, Reuben Williams, Jr.; sisters, Betty Hull & Carolyn (Ronnie) Roberts; nieces, Amy, Sarah, Sheila & Sheena; plus, a host of other relatives & friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Graveside Services & Burial will follow in the Brookland Cemetery in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Hour of 12:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
