I am truly heartbroken and shocked. I had no idea he passed. He was my neighbor 
and bestfriend when we were teens living on Nottaway. We literally inspected every house built on that street. I was 14 when I saw him putting on a roof and fell in love. Of course no 17 year old wants the attention of a 14 year old. But he was so patient allowing me to hang around with Charlie, M. King and himself. I can remember his first day it Ford. Such a grown up🥰 He was my best secret keeper. Continuing prayers and peace Sherry and Judith. He was simply the best.💔💔💔

Mike organized our "mini class reunions" and it was our privilege to work with him on them!  Mike always wanted to maintain our friendships that were formed at Pleasure Ridge Park High School over 50 years ago.  Our class was unique in that we have made a point of nurturing our friendships and building adult relationships. Mike was very good at that we will be forever grateful to him.  We will continue to hold our mini-reunions in his memory and we will raise a glass in a toast to our dear friend every single time!  We love you Mike and you will hold a special place in our hearts. Rest in Peace dear friend!

Mike was a good man very kind never  heard him say a bad word about anyone I enjoyed working with him we had good times  He will be missed by all his Ford family all of his friends and family rest in peace Mike

Thank you for introducing me to the lake life. I have the best memories of our times at Dale Hollow, Barren and Cumberland. 

Mike was one of a kind we were in touch with him on Facebook and he helped bring some of our friends and family together when we came to town. He was a very special man and will be deeply missed.

I went to high school (PRP) with Mike and have fond memories. My deepest condolences to his family. 

I will always remember the times growing up in the west end and all the times we spent together on my porch in the evenings. We would gather there and talk and just enjoy the summer evenings. God be with you and your family!

My brother, striped jacket, grew up with the best neighbors ever. The Vance boys. Pictured here from left to right are Donnie, Kenny, Mike and Ricky Vance.  They are our extended family. 

You will always be  my little brother. I love you very much. I wish there was something I could have done to help you.

I still can't believe you're gone. You were a positive influence and a calming presence for me and probably for a lot of people. I miss the break table, I miss our conversations. You were someone I could share things with that I can't share with just anybody. 

Sherry we are so very sorry to hear of Mikes passing. You both are the best neighbors anyone could ever ask for. I will miss seeing him working on the fishpond and talking to him, he was the best of the best. Prayers for you and your family.

Mr.  Pittman would be the first name you see if you would check the seniority list at Ford. Think he started in 1970. This man would be the 1st to show up everyday prepared to work . If you needed anything at all you have to do is ask Mike. He'd always be polite.  You probably never meet a nicer man . Those who knew him would agree.  I remember me & him attended Electrical Classes together He'd study day & night.  Mike rode that motorcycle to the Classes out on Westport rd. 
and it be freezing cold. We also went to 
Michigan to train on new models He'd make sure he new every little thing about
the vehicles . Mike you will be missed.
Wished you'd retired so you could have enjoyed the life you really deserved.
