Thomas Gerald Isaacs

Thomas Gerald Isaacs 86, was born on Thursday, September 17, 1936 in Owsley County, Kentucky to the late Robert Whitley and Susie Ellen Harvey Isaacs and passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023. His first wife was Patricia Ann French Isaacs (deceased) and is survived by their children Melody Ann Isaacs Halbleib (Kevin) and Richard Norman Isaacs (David Vecera) and grandchildren Conor Isaacs Halbleib and Katherine Patricia Halbleib Mason (Trevor).

His second wife was Mary Ella Ray Woolley (deceased) and is survived by his step-children Janet Colvin, Richard Woolley Jr., Kenneth Woolley and Cheryl Shacklette, 10 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by three brothers, Donald Wilmer, Max Cadle and Charlie Lynn Isaacs, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Elman Braxston, William Edsel, Henry Clay, Glenn Scott, Raymond Delmar, Isaac Gene (Tom’s twin) Isaacs and sisters Mavis Eileen Isaacs Meredith and Carrie Madeline Isaacs Paul.

Tom was a complicated individual. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he had been stationed in Thule, Greenland, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, history, and reading the encyclopedia. He loved his many dog and cat pets, was a huge University of Kentucky fan and was proud of his Appalachian roots and Scotch-Irish heritage.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Arch L.Heady & Son Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
