Susan Haven

Born September 28, 1951 in Vine Grove, KY to the late Bertha and Thomas Matthew Vowels. She and her husband Tim Haven were married in 1972 in Vine Grove, KY. They moved to Bloomfield Hills, MI in 1974 where they settled and raised their family.

Susan loved her family and grandkids. She enjoyed watching her sons and grandkids play sports, dance, do gymnastics and play instruments. Susan was an avid golfer and enjoyed sharing the sport with her family. Susan and Tim were members at Pine Lake Country Club in Orchard Lake, MI for 28 years and spent many summer days together on the course, on the lake and enjoying their fabulous Sunday brunches.

Susan worked in the Birmingham, MI school district for 25 years and found a lot of joy and purpose in working with kids. She enjoyed socializing and reminiscing with her family and friends. She was fond of shopping and art fairs and hunting for the great deals. She found comfort in being near water and loved the sound of the crashing waves of the ocean.

Susan is survived by her husband Tim, her two sons Brent (Megan) and Brandon (Laurel) and her four grandchildren Ben, Alex, Hannah and Olivia. She is also survived by her brother Kenny, sister Diane, sisters-in-law Patricia, Twrena, Mary Ann, Adriana and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her brothers Wayne, Freddie and Nolan.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 314 E. Main Street, Vine Grove, KY. A reception will be hosted by St. Brigid’s volunteers at their parish hall immediately after the service.
