Sherry Lynn (Sydnor) Ballard

Sherry was born on July 30, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky to Vane D. “Sid” & Dorothy (Priddy) Sydnor. She was a Class of 1966 Graduate of Dupont Manual High School and attended Lone Hill United Baptist Church. She married her Junior High School sweetheart, Dennis Ballard, on January 27, 1968. After high school she went on to become a Beautician, working for Edith’s Beauty Shop. She was also a Teacher’s Aide at the Auburndale Elementary School from where she retired. Sherry was a very good cook, loved playing Bunco and her favorite time of the year was the holidays. She had a love for her family and spending time with her grandchildren. During her high school years, she was voted “Most Talkative.” She never missed an 11 p.m. phone call with her sister.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Vane D. “Sid” & Dorothy (Priddy) Sydnor.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Dennis Ballard; children, Lynn (Chuck) Ballard Johnston, Heather (Chris) Egan, Amy (Dustin) Thorn; grandchildren, Jack Egan, Crew Egan, Bennett Egan, Dash Egan, Harrison Egan, Mallory Thorn, Anderson Thorn, Clay Johnston, Evan Johnston; siblings, Barbara (Bud) Vancampen, Randall (Brenda) Sydnor, Mike Sydnor, Keith (Stefanie) Sydnor; in – laws, Don (Lauren) Ballard, David (Carol) Ballard and Diane (Mike) Lozowski; plus a host of many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and cherished friends to mourn her passing.

A Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday, Friday, July 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
