She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Orkies; and brother, Tom Kirby.
She was Registered Nurse for Norton Audubon Hospital.
She is survived by her children, Stephen Orkies, Jennifer Orkies-Radu (Ross), Robin Hawthorne and her former husband, Joe Hawthorne, and Laurie Orkies Dunaway; grandchildren, Regan Mitchell, London Radu, Isaiah Hawthorne, Megan Dadisman, Garrett Dunaway, Ayden Dunaway and Elle Dunaway siblings, Kate Kirby (Mary), Jim Kirby (Iris) and Reggie Kirby (Ray); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12 pm on Monday, December 30, 2024 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 639 S Shelby St. Louisville, Kentucky 40202. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 2 pm until 8 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy.
